Project Overview
Bribie Island Bowls Club
Complete redesign and repositioning of a waterfront club as a dining, entertainment and bowls destination.
Project Overview
Bribie Island Bowls Club came to us with a website that was constantly crashing, outdated, and impossible for staff to update.
As one of Queenslandโs largest clubs โ with over 400 bowling members and 5,000 social members โ they needed a site that was fast, mobile-friendly, and positioned them as more than just a bowls venue.
We delivered a full website redesign, complete with UX planning, content writing, SEO structure, and CMS training.
The new site is built to attract diners, promote gaming and events, support competitive and social bowlers, and showcase their prime waterfront location.
With a fresh layout and fully managed backend, the club team can now update their content and promote new campaigns with confidence.
Destination-Focused Layout and Messaging
The siteโs content and layout are designed to reposition the club as a go-to destination on Bribie Island โ not just for bowls, but for lunch, dinner, entertainment and relaxing drinks by the water.
With sections tailored to โWhatโs Onโ, โBar and Diningโ, โBowlsโ and โGamingโ, the structure supports both new visitors and returning members.
We placed special emphasis on showcasing the venueโs all-weather undercover greens, modern indoor spaces, and unbeatable water views.
These elements are not just visually appealing โ they reflect the lifestyle experience that Bribie Island Bowls Club offers.
The site now tells a fuller story of the venue and its appeal to both locals and holidaymakers.
The new layout also allows the club to feature seasonal events, new menu launches, and promotions, helping them stay relevant and visible in a competitive local market.
UX and Mobile Experience
The mobile experience was a top priority.
Many guests access the site while on the go โ looking to view the menu, check event times, or make a quick booking.
We structured the layout to surface these actions clearly, with simplified navigation, mobile-responsive design, and fast load speeds.
The navigation separates bowls and dining clearly, allowing users to find what theyโre after with minimal clicks.
Quick links to booking, menu, and event pages ensure high-conversion actions are never buried.
Whether someone is browsing from home or already out on the island, they can take action fast.
We also ensured content was easy to read on smaller screens, with mobile-friendly spacing and buttons designed for thumb-taps โ essential for older audiences and casual users alike.
Engagement-Boosting CTAs and Conversion Elements
The Bribie Island Bowls Club website features a range of strategically placed CTAs designed to drive bookings, increase time on site, and promote visitor engagement.
- โFind Out Moreโ Buttons: Placed across key areas like dining, bowls and gaming to encourage deeper exploration. These CTAs allow users to browse at their own pace while keeping key actions close by.
- Menu and Booking Links: Prioritised for mobile users, allowing guests to quickly access food options and make plans. These are visible at key touchpoints throughout the site.
- Event Callouts: Featured in the Whatโs On section and throughout the homepage to keep the site feeling active and up-to-date. Events are a key part of the clubโs appeal, and now they have the visibility they deserve.
These elements are supported by strong visuals, trust signals like responsible service messaging, and a welcoming tone that reflects the clubโs community spirit.
Content Control and Ongoing Growth
A key deliverable was CMS flexibility.
We trained staff on how to update content, promote new events, and manage their own messaging.
This gives the club long-term control without reliance on third parties โ allowing them to stay current and relevant throughout the year.
From bowls competitions to seasonal dining offers, the team can now publish, promote, and pivot as needed.
The platform gives them freedom to scale their content as the club grows.
