The Client

Page Turner Studios is a Brisbane based self publishing business helping independent authors prepare, publish and promote their books.

Its services span professional book formatting, eBook formatting, cover design, publishing support, launch support and broader author development, giving writers access to different levels of assistance throughout the publishing journey.

Project Overview

Page Turner Studios had evolved into a much broader self publishing and author support business, but its website no longer reflected the scale of the services, the people behind the business or the different ways authors could work with the team.

The challenge went well beyond giving the existing site a new look.

Authors arrive at very different stages. Some have a completed manuscript and know exactly what they need. Others are still trying to understand the publishing process, compare their options or decide how much support they require. The new website needed to make a large and increasingly complex service offering feel clear, personal and easy to navigate.

Scorched Media completely redesigned and rebuilt the website around the business, its services and the way authors actually move through the self publishing journey.

The project extended across business positioning, custom website design and development, user experience, custom navigation, service and package structure, eCommerce functionality, content strategy, selected copywriting, conversion strategy, SEO and Local SEO.

New service hubs and package pathways were created, individual package sales pages were developed, direct Buy Now journeys were introduced and quote and consultation options were expanded for authors who needed personal guidance before choosing.

The finished website changes how Page Turner Studios presents its business, explains its services and guides prospective clients from first visit through to package purchase, quote request or direct conversation with the team.

Repositioning for the Full Self Publishing Journey

Page Turner Studios had grown beyond the way the business was being presented online.

Book formatting remained a core service, but authors could now access support across eBooks, cover design, publishing, launch preparation and longer term author development.

Scorched Media repositioned the website around that wider publishing journey.

Formatting was placed within a broader service story that shows authors how Page Turner Studios can help at different stages of bringing a book to market.

That positioning carries throughout the website. The navigation, service hubs, package structure, calls to action, author projects, team presence and supporting content all reinforce the wider capability of the business.

The result is a website that represents Page Turner Studios as it operates today, not the narrower version of the business it had already outgrown.

Complete Custom Website Design and Build

This was a complete custom website design and build, not a visual refresh of the existing site.

Scorched Media created a new design system across the homepage, major service hubs, individual service pages, package hubs, detailed package pages, About content, process sections, testimonials, FAQs, video, enquiry forms and conversion areas.

Many of these pages need to explain detailed professional services, answer questions, present options, build trust and create a clear next step.

The design was structured around those requirements.

Strong hero sections establish page purpose. Service and package cards make complex choices easier to understand. Process sections explain what happens next. Published books, author projects, team photography, testimonials and video provide proof throughout the journey. Calls to action appear at meaningful points within longer pages rather than being left until the end.

Desktop and mobile experiences were also considered independently where required, maintaining the same clarity and hierarchy across different screen sizes.

The result is a substantial website with a consistent identity, while allowing each service, package and customer pathway to perform a different role.

Custom Service Navigation and User Journey

With a broader service offering, the main navigation needed to do more than list pages.

Scorched Media designed a custom menu system that makes the navigation part of the customer journey.

Core areas including Author Support, Book Formatting, eBook Formatting and Cover Design are surfaced directly within the menu, giving visitors an immediate view of the different ways Page Turner Studios can help.

Quote pathways are also clearly accessible, while supporting content such as the self publishing guide provides another entry point for authors who are still researching their options.

This matters because visitors may know what they are trying to achieve without knowing the correct name for the service they need.

The navigation begins explaining the offer before an author reaches an individual page, helping them find a relevant path sooner.

Clear Service and Package Pathways

Page Turner Studios does not have one simple customer path.

An author looking for book formatting is in a different position from someone who needs help preparing for publication. Another may want ongoing author support, while some visitors may not yet know which service they need at all.

Scorched Media rebuilt the website structure around those differences.

The Self Publishing Services Hub gives authors a broader view of the support available. Book Formatting Packages and Author Support provide clearer routes into specific options, while individual service and package pages provide the detail required once a visitor knows which direction is relevant.

Publishing journey content also connects related services, helping authors understand how different parts of the Page Turner Studios offering fit together.

The website now helps visitors progress naturally from:

Where am I in the publishing process?

to:

What type of help do I need?

to:

Which service or package is right for me?

and finally:

Am I ready to buy, request a quote or speak with the team?

eCommerce Built for Professional Service Packages

The eCommerce requirement needed more thought than simply adding Buy Now buttons.

Page Turner Studios sells professional publishing packages that authors often need to understand in detail before they are ready to purchase.

Scorched Media structured the buying journey around that decision process.

Authors can enter through a broader service or package hub, compare available options, move into a dedicated package page, understand what is included and who the package is suited to, then continue into a Buy Now pathway when they are ready.

At the same time, the website does not force every visitor into eCommerce.

Quote requests, consultations and contact pathways remain available for authors with more complex requirements or those who want guidance before committing.

The Quote Request journey was also expanded to support both Book Formatting and Author Support enquiries.

This gives Page Turner Studios two connected sales paths. Authors who know what they need can move towards direct purchase, while those who need help can move towards a conversation without being pushed into the wrong package.

Making Personal Support Visible Across the Website

A key part of the positioning was making the people behind Page Turner Studios visible.

Authors are not simply purchasing a technical publishing service. They are trusting a team with a project that may have taken years to create and can be deeply personal.

Scorched Media carried that understanding throughout the website.

Team photography, real published books, author projects, testimonials, video, process content and examples of completed work sit alongside the service and package information authors use to make decisions.

The About content introduces the people behind the business, while proof from real authors appears throughout the wider site rather than being isolated on a testimonial page.

The result combines professional publishing expertise with the personal support Page Turner Studios wanted the market to understand.

Content Strategy and Author Focused Messaging

A website of this scale required more than moving existing content into new layouts.

Scorched Media reviewed the content page by page and helped reshape the messaging around how authors research, compare and make decisions.

We provided direction around page purpose, content hierarchy, service relationships, package positioning, trust content, calls to action and FAQs, while identifying duplicated messaging and areas where visitors needed more explanation.

Page Turner Studios remained closely involved in developing its content, with Scorched Media also providing selected copywriting and refinement throughout the project.

Service content explains where each offering fits within the publishing journey. Package content makes differences and suitability clearer. FAQs address genuine author concerns, while calls to action provide appropriate next steps based on the purpose of each page.

The content now supports the customer journey and the commercial role of the website rather than simply describing the services available.

SEO and Local Search Built Into the Rebuild

SEO was considered as part of the website rebuild from the beginning.

Scorched Media reviewed search intent and page targeting across core commercial areas including book formatting, eBook formatting, self publishing and author support.

Heading hierarchy, page titles, meta descriptions, internal linking and content depth were strengthened, while the wider restructure created clearer relationships between service hubs, individual services and package pages.

Duplicated and competing messaging was reduced so important pages could serve a clearer purpose.

FAQs were also developed around genuine author questions, giving visitors useful information while extending the range of relevant searches individual pages can address.

Local SEO formed part of the wider work, including Page Turner Studios’ Brisbane positioning and Google Business Profile categorisation.

The result is a stronger search foundation built into the same structure used to improve navigation, content clarity and the customer journey.

Client Feedback

Scorched Media completely redesigned our website and changed the way Page Turner Studios presents itself to the market.

Darren and the team handled every part of the project, from design and development through to user experience, SEO, conversion strategy and positioning. They took the time to understand our business, our services and the people we work with, then built the website around that.

A big part of the project was getting our positioning right. We wanted people to understand that Page Turner Studios is a business run by real people, providing personal support to authors. That now comes through clearly across the whole website.

What we have now is much more than a new website. It reflects our business properly, makes our services easier to understand and gives people a much clearer path to work with us.

We are so happy with the result and would highly recommend Scorched Media to any business that needs more than just a website.

Don’t Settle for Ordinary

Page Turner Studios needed more than a new website. They needed a site that reflected the full scope of the business, made a complex service offering easier to understand and gave authors clear paths to purchase or personal support.

Scorched Media shaped the positioning, custom design, navigation, service and package structure, eCommerce, content direction, conversion strategy and SEO to build the website around the way authors actually move through the self publishing journey.

The result is a website that presents the business more clearly, supports direct package sales and assisted enquiries, and gives Page Turner Studios a stronger platform for working with authors across the publishing journey.
